PHS alum and current University of Minnesota tight end Jameson Geers caught two passes for 26 yards in the Gophers' Sept. 7 48-0 rout of Rhode Island.
Geers, a 6'5, 225-pound redshirt junior from Channahon who graduated from Providence in 2021, has three catches for 35 yards on the year through two games.
In 2023, he started two games and played in 12 for the Gophers, scoring his first career college touchdown against Bowling Green.
Geers is the son of Brian and Jill Geers.
Jameson's older brother, Brennan (PHS Class of 2019), played baseball at Providence and at Triton College.
His older brother Mark played at Minooka H.S. and was a defensive end for Butler University (2014-18).
